Albatros – Czech Aviation Legacy, Crafted Through Time
Albatros – A Tribute to Czech Aviation
The Albatros pilot watch pays homage to the Czech Aero L-39 jet trainer, designed by Jan Vlček in the 1960s. This iconic aircraft became the world’s most widely used jet trainer by the late 1980s and was favored for its maneuverability, even by aerobatic teams.
This 44mm mechanical watch with manual winding takes design inspiration from the L-39’s grey instrument panel with yellow accents. The Arabic numerals are modeled directly after those in the aircraft cockpit.
The watch features a power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock, offering 192 hours of operation, and an off-center seconds subdial at 6 o’clock with a date window. At 9 o’clock, the dial is engraved with an outline of the Albatros, balanced by the ROBOT logo at 3 o’clock for symmetry.
The Super-LumiNova-filled hands evoke the aircraft’s profile, while the 904L stainless steel case is water-resistant to 100 meters. Powered by the Swiss La Joux-Perret F1S0 movement with an 8days power reserve, the watch is visible through a sapphire crystal caseback.
The Albatros comes on a sporty three-tone textile strap with leather lining, completing its aviation-inspired design.
